We often get asked, "Do I need a PS5 or Xbox to play high-end games on an NPC TV?" Thanks to the Samsung Gaming Hub, the answer is now "No."

This is my personal favorite feature for days when I work from home. It is called Workspace (found inside the Samsung Daily+ menu on newer models).

Most people think they need an HDMI cable to connect their laptop to the TV. With Tizen, you can do it wirelessly. You can remotely access your office PC (Windows) or even use Microsoft 365 cloud apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) directly on the TV screen.

How to Unlock It:

  1. Go to the Samsung Daily+ or Workspace menu on the home screen.

  2. Select "Windows PC" for remote desktop connection or select "Microsoft 365" to log in to your cloud account.

  3. Tech Insider Tip: Connect a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to your NPC TV. Suddenly, your 55-inch TV is a massive PC monitor, and your desk is completely free of cables.

 

4. The iPhone Friend: Native AirPlay 2 Support

If you are an iPhone or Mac user, you know the pain of trying to cast your screen to a standard Android TV—you usually have to download sketchy third-party apps.

How to Unlock It:

  1. Open the SmartThings app on the TV menu.

  2. Sign in with your Samsung account.

  3. The TV will automatically detect compatible smart devices (lights, thermostats, robot vacuums) on your Wi-Fi.

  4. You can set up a "Movie Mode" routine: when you open Netflix, the TV can tell your smart lights to dim automatically.
